Our writers’ group was formed in 1997. The name of the group was chosen from the original location of our meeting place—it will not surprise you to know that it was in a public house, the Queen’s Head in Churchgate Street, Harlow.

Most of the original Inn Scribers were students of  Barbara Wood-Kazcmar on the Writing for Pleasure & Profit course run by North West Adult Community College in Harlow 1996—1997.

The purpose of our group is to foster writing in all its forms, to the mutual benefit of our members, to exchange literary ideas and to organize events of  joint interest.

In 2000 we moved into our present meeting place, Moot House. This is a grade II listed building, home of Mark Hall & Netteswell Community Association; who have fifty years of community achievement.

Please feel free to browse through the rest of this small site and if you feel the urge to take up pen and paper or sit before a computer and churn out anything literary, then the next step would be to come along to one of our meetings and see if  THE INN SCRIBERS can help you.  Telephone our Secretary  for the time of the next meeting.  (01279 438486)
